Does the garage mini-split need a check if I hardly use it?
If you want to know whether the garage will heat up when you need it, ask the technician to run that unit as well as the furnace. Testing the central furnace tells you about the house, not the garage.
What happened on this visit
The homeowner told us the garage mini-split had seen little use that year. During the visit, our technician inspected the central equipment indoors and outdoors, then checked the separate garage unit. Both systems ran in heating and cooling modes during the visit.
When scheduling a heating inspection, tell us which rooms have their own units. That gives us a chance to confirm what you want checked before we arrive.
